Kit Installation - Reno North Valleys, NV
This was a kit that a clever and talented homeowner installed himself - and felt it was fairly straight-forward. Notice the AC disconnect with the meter below? It's still in the code, at least through next month, based on vintage inverters that did not previously include this feature. Hopefully the code is updated in April as this disconnect is a duplication of effort with inverters now including this feature.
Roof Mount - Minden, NV
This was a roof mount owner/builder project completed in August 2009. This was a large residential system of 4,680 Watts that was mounted effectively on the smaller southern portion of this Minden roof. The homeowner is now enjoying watching his meter run backwards and looking forward to selling his energy credits as he chose not to take the NV Energy Rebate. This homeowner's priority was battery backup for his system, so he went with a Sunnyboy inverter.
Ground Mount - Spanish Springs, NV
This ground mount was complete in late August. The customer has ten acres with great meter access and premium solar exposure. Again, this was an owner/builder project whereas the homeowner's son (a contractor) installed the kit. They too have decided to pass on the NV Energy Rebate and will keep any energy credits produced.
Roof Mount Kit - Minden, NV
Many Northern Nevadans have likely driven by this customers' house on their way to Genoa - Nevada's oldest settlement. Laurie has been a tax preparer for her Minden clients for a long time and is looking forward to the tax benefits of her new roof-mounted solar system.
Pole Mount - Truckee, CA
This has been an interesting installation that was completed near the end of 2009. Because this client lives in the Tahoe National Forest, one would believe that solar was not possible or worth exploring, but their property coupled with a well-designed pole mount is making solar a feasible option.
